the concept

A great sandwich starts with great bread...

Our Sandwich concept is about simple qualityWe use thick cut Wholemeal, Granary and Farmhouse White breads made by Gadsby's of Southwell.

We then use quality ingredients, which are mainly sourced locally, to create a really special freshly-made sandwich for you to enjoy.

We source meats and poultry from Sibley's Butchers of Newark. Our Tuna is sourced from Sustainable Fisheries. Our organic vegetables are from Maxey's in Southwell. Our eggs are from chickens raised in barns and our cheeses are all sourced from their country of origin.

Each sandwich is lovingly prepared to order by the team at Stray’s Sandwich and is served with a fresh salad garnish and portion of potato crisps.

All you have to do now is decide what to have…

How it all began...

It seems hard to imagine that only six years ago, Stray's was a derelict building in Newark that used to be a pet food store and warehouse. Little did we know what we would create!

The coffee bar began in Stamford in 2002. We set up our first coffee bar, having had no experience whatsoever and quickly became the No.1 venue to enjoy a real coffee and cake. In 2004, we had the chance to re-locate our business to our current premises on the corner of Middlegate and Boar Lane and the business has grown organically since then.

more seats at Stray's

No. 20 - At last our new seating areas are open

We recently opened No.20 at Stray's adding another 30 seats to our growing business. The seats are located in the two rooms that used to house our takeaway sandwich bar, next door at No.20 Middlegate. These are easily accessed from the front of the coffee bar and are fast becoming popular with our regulars who"like the high ceilings and bright space".

Now, all we have to do is work out how to make the coffees even faster!
