The Sandwich concept
the concept
A great sandwich starts with great bread...
We use thick cut Wholemeal, Granary and Farmhouse White breads made by Gadsby's of Southwell.
We then use quality ingredients, which are mainly sourced locally, to create a really special freshly-made sandwich for you to enjoy.
We source meats and poultry from Sibley's Butchers of Newark. Our Tuna is sourced from Sustainable Fisheries. Our organic vegetables are from Maxey's in Southwell. Our eggs are from chickens raised in barns and our cheeses are all sourced from their country of origin.
Each sandwich is lovingly prepared to order by the team at Stray’s Sandwich and is served with a fresh salad garnish and portion of potato crisps.
All you have to do now is decide what to have…
We like to keep things simple
So our sandwiches are priced as either a trio (bread, main filling and sauce/garnisgh or a quartet (bread, two main fillings and sauce/garnish).
We then break these down into regular » (core fillings) and gourmet » (fancy fillings).
The idea is not to make a simple job complicated - rather to give you a benchmark price for your sandwich to watch the pennies. Now if you want to complicate things, just tell us what you'd like and we'll create a made-to-order sandwich for you and price it per ingredient!!
Otherwise, take a look at the snippets of our current menu » to see our Trio, Quartet and Big Band Platter offerings available to enjoy from the comfort of the coffee bar.
Eat-in or take-out?
'Eat-in' sandwiches are lovingly prepared to order by the team at Stray's Sandwich and are served with a fresh salad garnish and mixed portion of potato crisps.
'Take-out' sandwiches are 'made-to-order' just like our eat-in option and are priced without garnish or crisps.
If you are a business and would like us to quote to make food for an event, please contact Liz Mack or call the coffee bar on 01636 700 597. Or of course, just pop in and ask for Lynn, Lizzie or Mat.
