Newark Jazz Festival 2010

Those of you who came to the 3rd Newark Jazz Festival will remember the Neil C. Young Trio. We're pleased to announce that Neil has confirmed that the trio will return to Stray's as one of our Quartet of Trios.

Chick (pea) soup by the Neil C Young Trio Neil's obvious influences are a mix of Martin Taylor, Antonio Carlos Jobim and maybe a little Django thrown in at times. Neil also lists the shows of Glen A. Larson as an influence!

Neil will be covering tracks from his new album and will be sharing interesting 'bits' about the album, his influences and generally getting feedback from the audience to make this a truly interactive jazz event. Neil's CD's are available on www.myspace.com/Neilcyoungtrio

No. 20 - At last our new seating areas are open

We recently opened No.20 at Stray's adding another 30 seats to our growing business. The seats are located in the two rooms that used to house our takeaway sandwich bar, next door at No.20 Middlegate. These are easily accessed from the front of the coffee bar and are fast becoming popular with our regulars who"like the high ceilings and bright space".

Now, all we have to do is work out how to make the coffees even faster!

After much demand...

we are pleased to announce the launch of Stray's Gift Vouchers. Available as £1, £5, £10 or £20 bookshop vouchers and £5 or £10 coffee bar vouchers, we think they'll be the answer to any customer's gift dilemma.

How many times have you been to a coffee shop and are greeted with an inordinate amount of marketing, yet the finished result just doesn't quite hit the mark?
